No more excuses

So for those that know me, I have battled with my weight since I have had kids. At times I would do so well and lose weight but I would find reasons to stop exerising, and some how found reasoning for eating so much food everyday.
Yes, I do have to say that I have a many things that I have had to deal with since I have had kids. Between always having to have a part-time job so we could make ends meat or if I was just too tried from trying to be the best mother I could be, or what about my first year being a head basketball coach, that season I gain 25 pounds.
One of my friends up here in Alaska that has lost over 100 pounds said once that she was sick of making excuses.
Making excuses.........think about it......that is all I did over the years. Just because things happened in my life (which compared to others, our family has been very blessed) it doesn't mean I can be a lazy eating machine.
So I turn 30 this year. My friend from my mission started a blog about becoming 30 and is going to go on 30 first dates. When I looked over her blog I realized how different our lives are right now but how similar it was too. We both are reaching this big number and looking at our lives and wondering how we are doing.
So far I am loving my life. I have a wonderful spouse that I will be able to see more often after he graduates in December. I know that he is the perfect man for me. He lets me win fights even though he knows that I am wrong, he puts up with my controlling nature, he is a wonderful father, and we can still talk for hours. My kids are what I get out of bed for. And even though Corbin is freaking out about something small right now, and Aubrey has to wear and dress everyday, I still love being their mom.
But even with all the blessing I have I know that I can be even happier if I was healthier. I would have more energy, I would fit into my pre-mother clothes that I carry around, I would be a better example to my kids, better sex life, (sorry that I had to write that, it is so true) and more confident in all that I do.
So who ever is with me, I have a plan and I need your help. I am setting goals to lose 6 pounds a month. I think that is reasonable. I know what to do, I just need to do it and I need people to check up with me. If I have a support team to see how it is going than I will feel more responsible to be doing good. And even if I lose all my weight I need friends and family to ask me how I am doing with my weight. I figure this isn't something that I will just battle with now until I lose the weight I need to lose, I will have to battle for the rest of my life. So email me, call me, or write comments on the blog and check up with me. I will post on the blog how I am doing for all those that care.
No more excuses!

Blueberry Pickin

So I have wanted to go pick berries since we moved here. Curt would never let me go because he thinks we are going to make the bears even more mad by taking there food. But one of my friends asked me to go to her parents house up on the mountain to pick berries. So it was my friend Carolyn, her son Caden, and there dog Raisen, my friend Jodi, and here dog Poohla, Aubrey and I, and of course our dog Baylor.
I didn't know that the hike was going to be so straight up but Aubrey did so well. She didn't complain one time that she was tried. The only complaint that I heard from her is branches would hit her in the face sometimes. She was the prefect height to get hit.
This was the view from the top. The picture doesn't even show how great the view was. This is one reason I love living in Alaska.
Overall I got about 4 cups of awesome blue berries. My friend Jodi stop by and left some of her Mississippi Bunt Cake. I don't have a Bunt pan but it was so good that I might try to make it in something else.

New Camera

We got a new camera the other day, it made Curt very happy. Our old camera got dropped just too many times. These are just some of our new fun pictures, I hope you enjoy.

Oh my, the first day of school.....

Can you believe that Corbin is already old enough to go to school? I thought I could handle him going until we moved up here and found out that it is all day. So far so good. His teacher's name is Mrs Frost, she has taught for over 20 years, and you can tell because I find her very organized. He loves it and says his favorite parts of his day in going to singing class, gym, going to lunch and playing with the trains in his class. The first day wasn't as bad as I thought because I had a friend that has a daughter in the same class by my side. (I am talking bad for me, not for him) I think if I was by myself, it would of been a different story. But we are going to one of the best schools in Alaska and he as 4 other member kids in his class that he already knew. Mrs Frost

I decided to do a Co-op Preschool with some other women in the Ward. It is three days a week and we take turns and each take a week to teach preschool for a week. The great part is that it is free and Aubrey is social with other kids and learning a little. Aubrey loves it, and I do too. It will be the first time that I will have no kids and I can do something for myself. I am going to start exercising, playing basketball with some ladies in the ward, and have some real quite time.

Carter Park

So we went out to Carter Park, that is in Wasilla. It is on the lake that Sarah Paylin lives on. Baylor loves coming out with us to new places. The kids wanted to swim, I let them even though it was in the high 60' s.

In Alaska, they leave life jackets out by any water with a sign that says "kids don't float". I think Corbin and Aubrey wanted to swim because they knew I would make them wear one.
Baylor had such a great day, he crashed when we got home. I wish my kids still did that.

What kind of Mushroom is this?

We get a ton of these mushrooms in our yard. They are the mushrooms off Alice and Wonderland. Does anyone know what kind they are?

A Piece of Yellowstone

Because we live way up here we couldn't get the chance to go to our annual vacation to the cabin in Yellowstone. We missed the four wheeling, food, family, fishing, and much more. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa the kids at least got a shirt and we talked about how much fun the cabin is.

A new baby

So we have been looking for a dog for a while. With my moms help, we found Baylor. ( Curt wanted to name our first child Baylor, well at least he got to name the dog it ) I wish all of you could come and see our little boy, he is a joy and the kids love playing with him.

Homer

I think Homer is my favorite city in Alaska, I only wish it was closer. We had to drive about 4 1/2 hours to enjoy the prettiest land I have ever seen. We went out when it was low tide to look for sea life and shells. I am so glad that is didn't rain too much that day, I was just sad we had to leave.

My parents left........ We are so glad they came and sorry to see them go. I think I could of got my dad to move up here if the fishing was better. They had great fishing the first weekend but got skunked the next weekend. We had so much fun. We did so much, we were on the go the whole too weeks. My kids and I got totally spoiled and loved every minute.
Combat fishing...... it really isn't that fun. I felt like I was going to hook the person next to me, not the fish. Too bad the fishing wasn't better than it was. We saw two baby bears when we went fishing. But they took off when people just yelled at them to leave. They are lucky the mommy bear wasn't around. Papa, Curt and Corbin went to a baseball game. They met the owner so they got the star treatment. Peggy, I thought you would love to see our big flowers that we have here, you should come and see them. This is the Yurt that we stayed at in Seward. It was really cool inside, full kitchen, bathroom and fit all 6 of us.

We took some of our fish that we caught to grill that night. Curt is an amazing cook with that fish. It is good because we have a lot of it. And of course smores!
My dad took the kids bowling when my mom and I were at the temple. Corbin has been looking forward to Papa taking him for weeks now. It might not look like he is having fun, but he said it was one of his favorite things he did when nana and papa came.
He told me that he kept on getting splits and that it is a lot harder than playing it on the Wii. Just thought I would add this picture in. I am suppose to say that it is the fish that Corbin caught.
