Fireworks
So here in Alaska they do fireworks on the 3rd. I think it is because they have to do them after midnight so I guess it is really the 4th. A LDS church was right across the street from the fireworks so our ward family kinda sat in an area together. Because of the time of the fireworks I had to give the kids a nap at 6:00 pm and woke them up again at 9:30pm. I was worried they would be in a bad mood but once they saw there friends they were happy as can be.
Corbin's friend shared his pull firecracker and silly string with him. He loved them and wants to go to the store to get more.
So for those that wonder how dark it gets in Alaska, this is about it. There is no street lights on and I didn't use my flash. It was kinda weird watching the show when it was so light but it works.
Aubrey hated the noise. She was so excited to see them and than once it started she couldn't stop cringing.

3 Fish!
A lady in our ward put together a fishing trip for just women. (well two men went to help and scare off the bears) It was a blast. Curt was thinking about coming but he would of had to take off work and I don't think he would had fun helping us women instead of fishing himself. All together we caught 9 fish and I luckily caught 3. (well my first one was when one of the husband's was showing me how to cast and he hooked one and gave me the pool quickly.) My arm it so sore, but it was well worth it.

Fishing with the Kids
I took the kids fishing at Beach Lake while Terra was working on Saturday. Corbin caught a monster trout as seen in the image below. He did not want to put it back in the lake. Aubrey had a blast, she spent much of the time getting her feet wet and reeling her line in at 100 mph. plus throwing rocks into the lake. Beach lake is 10 minutes from our house.

Learning to Ride
So Corbin wants to learn how to ride his bike without training wheels. Everyone that he plays with know how to ride. And he says, " 5 years olds need to learn how to ride without training wheels." So we are working on it. We started by letting him go down a grassy hill so when he falls it doesn't hurt. But now he can go on the sidewalk for a little bit by himself but he freaks out and puts his feet down. Hopefully he knows by the end of the summer.

Saturday Adventures
So I didn't have to work all weekend so we decided to go to Girdwood. I have wanted to go up there for awhile but it was finding the time and people kept on saying it still was pretty wet from the snow and runoff.

Curt saw someone that had a fish on his line. He said it was a huge fish. The poor guy was trying to get it in for a long time, we stayed and watch for a bit but he looked like he was going to pass out. We finally had to leave. Curt talked about it all the way home. He really needs to go fishing soon.
There is a famous hike called Winner Creek that starts from a hotel, as you can see a really nice hotel.

There was a tram that went up to a restaurant and hiking trails.
Than we went over to the community park. The picture only shows half the park, it was huge.
Than the kids had to go to the beach to make sandcastles. It isn't much of a beach, but it did the job.
