Father/Son and Mom/Daughter Day

I was feeling like our kids were needing some one-on-one attention and our kids couldn't agree on an activity that both of them could do. Curt took Corbin golfing while I took Aubrey skating. Aubrey saw some Barbie movie where she ice skates, and of course now that is what she wants to do. I told her when she turned 4 I would take her and she remembered. She did well, for her first time. She could barley stand up by herself but she keep on asking me to show her how to do tricks. I decided to sign her up for lessons in town, they start in July.

Baseball Time Again

One of the things that I love with living in Eagle River is there T-ball program. Corbin loves to play and is learning some great life lessons. He does get a little to serious sometimes but I guess that he gets it from my side of the family. Has you see from the pictures we are on the Colorado Rookies this year. The other night he asked if we could move to Colorado. Even though I like the state I told him when he grows up he can. I wonder next year what state he will want to move to.

Corbin's Birthday Party

So Corbin decided on having his birthday party at the Bounce House. I was actually OK with it because I had no time or energy planning and putting on a party this year. The boys seemed to have a fun time bouncing away. Instead of a gift bag I made Jedi coats. They turned out pretty good and it ended up being less expensive than if I put together a gift bag of candy and small toys together. ( who ever invented the gift bag should be shot )
You think I would be more creative with the cake since I used to work at a bakery, but this is all I had time for. It was easy and he could keep the toys after we ate it.

Backyard mess

Can you believe that this is all of Baylor poop from over the winter months. It was so gross to clean up yesterday. I can't wait until the kids are old enough to do it on there own. Oh, but we still made them help us. Corbin has a weak stomach like me and was dry heaving, but Aubrey on the other hand was just waving the bag around like it was nothing. I think Curtis was questioning why we had a dog while cleaning up. We must really love Baylor.
While we were cleaning a moose walked by, Alaska is crazy like this. Good thing we have a fence.

I need to give recognition

So about a month ago one of my basketball players texted me and told me she was at the final game of our regional tournament. (I wasn't there because we got out in the first round and Aubrey was sick.) She texted me that I got Coach of the Year. Of course I didn't think that she was serious, so I started to laughing and texted her back saying, yah right, funny joke. But she texted me again saying that she was serious. Not knowing if I was getting punked, I waited until it came out in the newspaper before I told anyone.
For those that don't know my team, we didn't win any games, we didn't score many points, and when other teams came to play us they knew it was going to be a win. But I know that people were amazed that my girls never gave up, they didn't pull any bad attitudes, and no matter what the score was they played as a team.
Our team motto this year was from Gandhi, "Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment. Full effort is full victory."
I am posting this not to brag about my award. I want to give recognition to all my girls that worked hard this year and never gave up. We will be better this next year because they are willing to learn and want to work hard. We did have victory this year because of our effort. Thanks girls!

Anything for a dollar

So the first tooth finally came out. After days and days of watching him putting his hands in his mouth, moving that tooth back and forth I finally sat Corbin down and pulled it out for him. He didn't cry at all, I think it was because he knew he was going to get money. He is going to make a great business man. Anything for a dollar.

Trip to Utah

So as most of you know, we took our trip to Utah. When we arrived there was no snow and sunny days, but I think we brought the bad weather. By the end of the week we saw snow and felt the wind. But that didn't get us down, we still did all we could to get out and have a fun time.

Grandpa spent some good quality time building a rocket with Corbin. You should of seen Corbin's face as it went off, pure enjoyment.





We wanted to see everyone and eat at all the places we don't have up in Alaska, so we put the two together. We met friends and family the Olive Garden where we could take in the breadsticks and catch up with the latest news.
Corbin and Brooks talked and talked all night. It was like we never left. Corbin ate 15 breadsticks. (not really, inside joke)



While Curt went fishing I took our kids to one of our favorite spots, Wheeler Farm. We used to go here all the time because we love to walk around and see the animals, and because it was free.


One day we decided to take the Front Runner, the train, down to Salt Lake to take in Temple Sqaure and the Planetarium. We ate at the Lion House and got there amazing rolls. I don't even want to know how much butter they put in them, they just taste so good. At the Planetarium we watched a 3D movie on the Hubble Telescope. Again Corbin was in awe. But with all the fun stuff we did that day, Aubrey said that riding the train was the best part.

And we couldn't leave Utah without spending some more time at Anna and Jake's house. As you see from the picture Aubrey didn't want to leave.

We also took in the Tree House Museum in Ogden. Corbin ran off with his friend Cohen so we don't have any pictures of them but Aubrey loved every minute, especially the pony section.

We ran in to President Obama at the Oval Office. Grandpa is going to be mad that Grandma is smiling in his presence.

And even though we are on vacation, we still dyed Easter eggs. Brian had us over at his house so we could all partake in dying about 40 eggs. I think Curt had just as much fun as the kids. We didn't get a picture of his eggs, but you can just imagine how his turned out.
The Easter Bunny came to Grandma and Grandpa house. Some how he knew we were going to be there.


I think we discovered Corbin's new talent of playing the piano. Grandma taught him a couple things, we hope to maybe buy a keyboard for his birthday.

We had a blast, and as you can see we were very busy. We want to thank everyone that stopped there life to hang out with us. We also met new family and friends.

Cobin's Science Project

So Corbin's has been really into science lately, I hope he keeps it up. He has always found space and planets a fun topic to research. So when the science fair came up he decided to do it on the phases of the moon. We made a board and showed a video to demonstrate how the moon looks like it changes shape.

Craft Projects

Ever since I moved to Alaska I have grown to love doing crafts. With the help of my new friends and a sewing machine that I borrowed from the church I made these bunny bags for friends in Utah. (Sorry I don't have a better picture) To give to all my friends, I had to make 11 of them. They turned out so cute, I hope they liked them. Next, I made the senior sashes in one day with my friend Jodi. They turned out better than I could even imagine. I only had to make 3 this year, but I have more than 8 for next year. I better start now.

MY FIRST QUILT!!! This thing took me about 6 months. I made it for Aubrey, for her first big bed. (twin) I don't know if you can tell by the picture but it is a house quilt. It has all different kinds of houses, dog house, bird house, tree house, out house, ect. Our quilt group did this together, all of the women did one house 16 times and we traded. Mine was the fish house. We are doing another quilt with shoes, I picked rain boots, but I am so slow, I bet I won't be done until Christmas. I had no idea how hard and time consuming they are, but I found it enjoyable, kinda like doing art.
